This story is completely false. The Bible tells us that all sin is the same and it also tells us that homosexuality is a sin.
Although you do say, shoutbot, that homosexuality is a sin, I'd like to show the verses that support you:
Leviticus 18:20-24 (New King James Version) -
22)You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.
23)Nor shall you mate with any animal, to defile yourself with it. Nor shall any woman stand before an animal to mate with it. It is perversion.
24)‘Do not defile yourselves with any of these things; for by all these the nations are defiled, which I am casting out before you.
Romans 1(New King James Version)-
24)Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves,
25)who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
26)For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature.
27)Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.

As for which sins are 'worse' than others, consider this:
Mark 3:28-30
28 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; 29 but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— 30 because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”
If the only sin that will not be forgiven is blaspheming against the Holy Spirit of GOD, then that must be THE WORST SIN...and therefore all other sins must be equally 'bad.'
